Mailchimp Integration

Mailchimp is a popular platform for sending email marketing campaigns to your customers. Mana offers a built-in integration with Mailchimp, allowing you to automatically sync your studio's users and their relevant data for targeted email campaigns.

What Data is Sent to Mailchimp?

When you enable the Mailchimp integration, Mana will sync your users to your selected Mailchimp audience. The following data is sent:

Mana uses Mailchimp's merge fields to store user-specific information. These fields are automatically created (if missing) and updated for each user:

• FNAME: First Name Example: "Alice"
• LNAME: Last Name Example: "Smith"
• CREATED_AT: Studio user since (date) Example: "2024-06-01"
• PHONE: Phone number Example: "+46701234567"
• CREDITS: Class credits (number) Example: 10
• CRED_EXP: Class credits expire at (date) Example: "2024-07-01"
• MS_STATUS: Membership status Example: "active_member"
• LAST_CB: Last class booking (date) Example: "2024-06-10"
• LAST_CCI: Last class check-in (date) Example: "2024-06-10"

Note: Merge field tags are limited to 10 characters by Mailchimp.

Mana uses tags in Mailchimp to help you segment your users based on their memberships:

• Active Memberships: Tags in the format membership: [Membership Name] are added for each active membership a user has.
• Ended Memberships: Tags in the format previous_membership: [Membership Name] are added for each ended membership.

These tags are automatically updated as users gain or lose memberships.

How to Set Up Mailchimp Integration

1. Create a Mailchimp API Key:
   • Log in to your Mailchimp account.
   • Go to Profile > Extras > API Keys.
   • Create a new API key and copy it.
2. Enable Mailchimp in Mana:
   • Go to your Mana dashboard.
   • Navigate to Settings > Studios > Integrations > Mailchimp.
   • Toggle the switch to enable Mailchimp.
   • Enter your API Key.
   • After entering your API key, Mana will fetch your available audiences.
   • Select the audience you want to sync users to.
3. Manual Sync (Optional):
   • Mana automatically syncs users nightly and when important changes occur.
   • You can trigger a manual sync at any time from the integration settings.

Troubleshooting

• If you see an error about the audience list, double-check your API key and that your Mailchimp account has at least one audience.
• Make sure your API key includes the datacenter suffix (e.g., xxxxxx-us21).
